😴 Could You Be Sleeping Better? 😴

You could be getting more out of your nights... Â Is there anything better than being tucked up in bed after a long day?
The warmth of the duvet, the softness of the pillow, the heaviness of your eyelids as you drift off. As nice as we all recognise this feeling as being, a lot of us don't get enough sleep each night. We're recommended 7-9 hours, but there are quite a few who are getting six or even five on a regular basis, covering this up with more coffees than we can count on our fingers and a large level of stress we'd much rather not have. Unfortunately, not getting enough sleep doesn't just mean that your coffee bill goes up - it can mean disaster for health and ruin for our minds. Â
For example, you may experience problems with your focus, memory, and mood. Many of us already know that we're a bit more short tempered after a bad night of rest and that only gets worse the less sleep we get.

And more...
We can't always ensure we get the best night of sleep, but there are ways we can make those chances higher.
Firstly, try not to go on your phone in bed. You can always send one more message, answer one more email, read one more article or scroll that one bit more, but phones emit blue light which signlas to your brain that its time to be awake. Instead try reading which can help calm you down and settle your brain ready to fall asleep. Secondly, make sure not to eat within 45-60 minutes before going to bed as your digestion can keep you awake. Having a peppermint tea after dinner can also help with your digestion and hot drinks can make you feel sleepy. Also, try using lavender sprays. Lavender has long been used to as a natural sleep aid as its pungent aroma aids in keeping the mind calm and collected. Lastly, try writing a to-do list. If you constantly find yourself worrying about what needs to be done, writing a list can help your mind let go and help you to feel more organised. Â
