❤️ How to Keep Your Heart Healthy ❤️
Published: Sun, 02/16/20
This week, we're talking about matters of the heart.
No, I won't be helping with your love life (sorry). Although, I will indirectly by making you happier, healthier and fitter which may in turn improve your love life.
I don't need to tell you how important the heart is, but with heart disease one of the most prevalent conditions affecting the modern world (in fact, it contributes to nearly 1/3 of deaths worldwide), we clearly underestimate how much we need to take care of it.
Most people believe their heart is fine because they never seem to have problems with it.
However, you don't always feel when something's heading in the wrong direction before it goes wrong. If people expected they were going to have a heart attack, there would probably be a lot less of them.
As well as a healthy diet and rigorous exercise, there are certain supplements that can help improve how your heart functions and performs.
Fibre is often touted as a good supplement, and it is. However, changing up your diet to get more fibre from whole foods is a much healthier decision.
CoQ10 can be a good option for its possible ability to lower cholesterol, particularly harmful cholesterol, and blood pressure.
Fish oil is another good option as it can help to lower unhealthy fats in your blood. As well as this, it can also help to improve your brain health.
Lastly, garlic. Garlic doesn't just taste good, it has a wide range of benefits for your health - and one of these is lowering blood pressure. It can also help to reduce plaque around the hear which can reduce your risk of blood clots. However, try to get this from the natural source. When it comes to your diet particular foods can increase your blood pressure, raise triglyceride levels, cholesterol, and inflammation.
Processed items, anything fried in vegetable oil, trans-fats, and more all put you at risk of becoming another member of that statistic.
These foods are OK from time to time, but if they're making up the bulk of your diet, then something's wrong.
Instead, your diet should be made up of natural, nutrient-rich foods high in fibre.
Foods such as:
And try to mix these up as much as possible. Getting in more fruits and vegetables is half the battle, but getting in a variety is where the true rewards come. If you'd like some more help with making 2020 your happiest, healthiest year, then send me a message.
I hope you have a great week!
