What a summer we've had! It seemed to be going so well until the final few weeks when Zeus decided he was in the mood for some showers. Hopefully, things start picking back up soon. Over the last couple of weeks we've been focusing on two topics: 1. Curcumin and Turmeric 2. Movement and Cycle to Work
Day Turmeric is an extremely underrated ingredient that can not only bolster the taste of your meals, but also dramatically improve your health! Turmeric contains a little known pigment called 'curcumin' which is
where it derives all of its health benefits from. Curcumin is a potent anti-inflammatory that's been associated with a reduced risk of cancer, mental degeneration, heart disease, and a build up of plaque within the arteries. However, in order to get all of these benefits, you need to pair it with something that will enhance its bioavailability. Thankfully, the best known source of this is black pepper - something you were most likely already using
to season your dishes. Feel free to get creative with turmeric as it doesn't just need to be reserved for curries and Indian recipes. Try it sprinkled on top of your eggs or whipped up with coconut milk for a warming beverage. The other topic we've been discussing has been Cycle to Work Day which passed us by this Wednesday! Cycling to work is just one of the many ways to improve the active part of your lifestyle to burn more calories, get more blood
pumping, and boost important health markers. If you're looking to make a change for the better, then one of the easiest places to start is by simply moving more. If you see an opportunity to get in some extra activity, then go for it! Take a look at your lifestyle now and really ask yourself what areas you can improve upon. Where can you add in more activity? Where might you be more static than you could be? Is there anything you can do to make
yourself move that little bit more? Remember, the most important investments you'll ever make are in yourself. Lastly, I want to here from YOU :) How can I improve these emails? How can I improve my social media? What would you like to see more/less
of? Any and all feedback would be absolutely wonderful! And with that, I'll leave you for another couple of weeks! As per usual, you can find more information about the topics above across my social media, and if you have any questions regarding your health and happiness, then get in contact with me as I will be more than happy to
help! Wishing you a lovely, sunny, and warm rest of August, John |
